She's on the move...

Above pic: Carlee started at the very corner of this blanket, within 3 minutes she had gone around the entire blanket (all the way to the far right middle patch) and ended up at the other corner (below pic).
She has been doing this all week long. I started crawling when I was 4.5 months old and I'm thinking...like Mother like Daughter??? (ahhhhhhhhh, we are in trouble!)

I just thought these were funny!

Carlee's "gangsta" pose!

Playdate with Madeline Johnson

Craig with Madeline and Matt with Carlee. Matt and Craig have been best friends since pre-school. They were born 12 days apart. Carlee and Madeline are 9 days apart. I see a great friendship forming.

Carlee was not very sociable during her first playdate with Madeline. Madeline really wanted to play, but Carlee was too busy sleeping (for this very brief moment, mostly she cried...a lot... shots make a baby, or at least this baby, very fussy).

Happy 2 month birthday!!!

Carlee had her 2 month doctor's appointment yesterday. She weighs 8lbs 11oz (25th percentile) and is 20.7 inches long (20th percentile). She also got 5 shots, but she was a trooper!

Carlee and I went to College Station this past weekend to give Craig a quite weekend to study for the CPA exam. Of course, Cici and Papa didn't mind at all. Cici bought Carlee some new books! Saturday night, Papa took care of Carlee while Mom and I went to the movies. He did such a great job!!! When we got home, Carlee was sleeping on his chest, just as happy as they both could be. Carlee loves snuggling up next to her Papa!

Who is that...Mama with brown hair?

Carlee is starting to like her swing a little better, but only if she is already in a good mood when you put her in it.

The Synergy (our sunday school class) girls (Mary, me, Carlee, Rachel and Anna) at Rachel's baby shower.

Rachel's having a boy! Carlee is not allowed to meet him until she is at least 25 years old. =)

So the hair color was not intentional. I told my stylist that I wanted to go more natural (which is a dark blonde, but nonetheless still very blonde), she thought going warmer was a good idea, but when she started putting the color on warm was an understatement. Oh well...just like a bad hair cut where it always grows back, you can always change the color too.

Her Weight and Our Date

Carlee looks so tiny curled up in my dad's arms.

On Friday, I went to lunch with some co-workers and while I was at the office I decided to weigh Carlee on the digital scale. So I got on the scale first (sorry not telling my weight!!!) and then got on with Carlee and she weighs 7 lbs 8 oz. WOW...I couldn't believe it. I surely thought she was still in the 6 lbs range since the newborn clothes still swallow her, but she is really growing. We have her 2 month appointment in a few weeks so it will be fun to see her exact height and weight and what percentile she falls in, although the getting shots part will not be fun!

My parents came to visit this weekend and they had a great time with Carlee. It had been 3 weeks since they last saw her and they couldn't believe how much she has changed. I don't think I held Carlee for more than 5 minutes all weekend. She is very spoiled. Saturday after dinner, Mom asks if Craig and I wanted to go to the movies while they took care of Carlee and of course we took them up on their offer! We saw the Hangover! Hilarious!!! After the movie, Craig and I were talking about various scenes and there is a baby in the movie and Craig said that all he could think about was that they haven't feed the baby and he was probably getting hungry. I thought that was really cute! Oh how your outlook on life and things change after having a baby.
HIGHLIGHT...For the first time, I put Carlee to bed last night and she slept a 4 hour shift and then a 5 hour shift. Whahoooooo!!! She woke up at 5:45am and the whole time I was feeding her I keep looking at the clock and for the life of me I couldn't remember what time her last feeding was besides the one at 1am. After 20 minutes of pondering, I realized she slept through it. Usually we have a feeding around 3am, but not this time!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight!
Happy Monday! xoxo, Susan
